Appeal after bloodied clothing found

We are appealing for information after bloodied clothing was found in a bin in Burton-on-Trent.

Officers are urging the victim of a possible assault to come forward so we can check on their welfare.

We were called at 6pm on Wednesday (7 January) to Branston Road after the clothing was found.

We want to check that the owner of the clothing is okay.

The clothes found are described as: a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms in size large, with a narrow leg - which may belong to a woman, a white top, and a large grey jumper, from Primark.

Also found were a pair of size 6 pink trainers/pumps and a pair of large black leggings, with white stripes on, from Shein.

Officers have seized the clothing and are reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time.

We would urge anyone who saw anyone injured in the area, or anything suspicious to come forward.
